MedSoc Annual Conference Theme
This year's conference will focus on the streams below but also examine our international links with Australia, exploring and comparing developments within Medical Sociology.
Building on the success of last year's conference, we will again be holding a number of specialist symposia during the conference. This is an oppportunity for speakers and participants to engage in greater depth with a particular topic, theme or sets of questions. This year we have four symposia.
- Neuroscience and Society: Sociological Agendas - Organised by Simon Williams, University of Warwick and Paul Martin, University of Nottingham
- Australian Sociology Panel - Organised by Alan Petersen, Monash University, Australia
- Medicalization - Demedicalization of Depression - Organised by Renata Kokanovic, The University of Melbourne, Australia
- Life Course Influences on Health and Development: Applying Medical Sociology to Quantitative Longitudinal Data - Organised by Melanie Bartley, University College London and David Blane, Imperial College London
