BSA London Meeting Room

The BSA is now the proud owner of a fantastic new resource – a meeting room in London which will be available for member groups to use free of charge!  Since 2001, the Association has been building up its cash reserves with a view to purchasing property, initially as a home for the BSA but latterly as a meeting space for members. Having found somewhere suitable, specialist advice was taken, including from the Association’s auditors and bankers, who all agreed that the trustees would be wise to diversify the Association’s investments by buying a property in this location at this time. The purchase was completed in February 2009 and the BSA has been taking bookings for room hire since April 2009.

The room is located at Station Court, Imperial Wharf.  It can accommodate 30 people boardroom-style, 40 theatre-style or two smaller groups. It’s air-conditioned and looks out onto the soon-to-be-completed Imperial Wharf Railway Station. Imperial Wharf is a 10-acre riverside development, and Station Court is a two-minute walk from a cosmopolitan boulevard with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, a beautifully landscaped park, Jurys Inn Chelsea, and the Thames. Imperial Wharf is a safe, desirable London location on the Fulham-Chelsea border, adjacent to Chelsea Harbour. There’s visitor parking for 309 cars, a river-taxi service to the City and West End and an enhanced local bus service (C3), with a direct service to and from Earl’s Court underground station.

Rob Mears, Chair of the BSA, told Network:  “Imperial Wharf will be a great spot for study group meetings – away from the smog but close enough to transport networks for easy access.”
