The British Sociological Association encourages members to pay their annual membership subscription by Direct Debit. Collecting annual payments is economical by Direct Debit, and the savings made are used to keep our subscriptions and fees as low as is possible. As a member of the BSA, you may participate in the scheme if you have a sterling bank account with a bank or building society in the UK. Direct Debit payments should also ensure that you do not fall behind with payments, and saves you the chore of paying invoices.
How
To join the Direct Debit Scheme, please follow these simple instructions.
1. Download the Direct Debit Form using one of the following formats:
2. Complete all of the requested bank/building society details on the form. Remember to include your signature and date. Then post it to the BSA using the address quoted on the form, or should you prefer to use our Freepost services the address is:
The British Sociological Association
FREEPOST NEA 599

The Reference Number and debit sum will be inserted by BSA staff at the time of processing. BSA staff will process your form, and notify you when your first payment is due.
Please note: The BSA does not operate a monthly payment scheme. All payments are processed by one instalment to reduce collection charges, postage, stationery and staff costs. As the number of members paying by Direct Debit increases, then the option of a monthly debit scheme increases. Our annual payment date is the 2nd February.
