There is no formal membership of this group, events are advertised via the BSA, the Institute of Health at University of Warwick and Coventry University. We tend to meet twice a year – one event involves an external speaker, followed by discussion, and the second event is a separate Postgraduate Forum, open to all Medical Sociology Postgraduates (see archives for 2007 event details).

The West Midlands MedSoc Group are holding a Postgraduate Forum in March. The event will take place within the BSA Annual Conference on Friday 28 March 2008 at 11.30am and is entitled ‘Health, well-being and society’. This broad title is intended to appeal to postgraduate students with an interest in all aspects of the Sociology of Health and Illness. We have enough abstracts now but would like to encourage students at the Conference to come along and widen their networks. We aim to organise a half day event which addresses postgraduate students’ areas of interest later in the academic year.
