Introduction
Established in 1975, the Sociology of Religion Study Group is one of the largest study groups within the BSA with approximately 140 members.
The Study Group´s annual conferences attract a wide range of specialists and non-specialists in contemporary religious issues and the sociology of religion. Conferences provide a forum for both internationally renowned scholars and, increasingly, young academics and post-graduate students.
The group aims to encourage newer/younger members and, in addition, to promote religion as a field of study within sociology.
We also have our own website.
Activities
The group´s members receive quarterly mailings with information about relevant conferences, publications, and news, including a Register of Membership (inclusive of members´ publications/research interests). Special Book Offer (50% discount) for Sociology of Religion Study Group Members - find out more>>
A Register of Research and Teaching is produced as a separate supplement every three years, providing information about courses taught by members. The group hosts regular activities each year.
