We look forward to welcoming you to our 50th Anniversary Annual Conference, Celebrating the Legacy - Medical Sociology: The Next 50 Years.

In recognition of our 50th anniversary, there will be 3 plenary sessions at the 2018 conference.  The opening plenary will be given by Professor Lesley Doyal (University of Bristol) and the closing plenary will be given by Professor Jonathan Gabe (Royal Holloway).  In addition, on Thursday, 13th there will be a panel plenary with a focus on Inequalities with keynote papers from Professor Ellen Annandale (University of York), Professor Graham Scambler (University of Surrey) and Professor Hannah Bradby (Uppsala University).

The BSA Medical Sociology Group Annual Conference is always an essential networking event for Medical Sociology academics and professionals. The group celebrates its 50th annual conference in 2018 and interest in the field of Medical Sociology continues to increase. The conference programme includes research papers from all areas of study within the field of medicine, health and illness.  

A broad and varied programme including symposia, poster presentations and social events ensures we continue to host the leading UK event for medical sociologists.  The conference will take place at Glasgow Caledonian University from 12-14 September 2018.
