Digital Sociology Study Group Seeks New Convenors

The Digital Sociology Study Group are seeking to recruit new conveners and they'd like to hear from anyone interested in the group's concerns:

  • The use of digital platforms for professional engagement,
  • The uses, abuses, and critiques of digital methods and digital data,
  • The critical analysis of digital media and digital platforms and their attendant circuits of capital and power,
  • Theories of digital technology and digital society and dialogues about how social and critical theory can be applied to society's digitisation.

To improve the range of activities group is able to offer and increase the group's impact we are looking to recruit enthusiastic members from across the United Kingdom who will be able to organise and facilitate events and contribute to the intellectual development of the group and Digital Sociology's profile in general.

If you are interested in becoming a convener we ask that you write a brief summary of your academic position and experience and outline your interests in Digital Sociology and how you think you will be able to contribute to the group's development and please email to Huw Davies or Chris Till.

In addition, if you are able to attend the BSA Annual Conference in Manchester in April please contact Huw or Chris to arrange a time to meet to discuss your ideas.

Expressions of interest from members at all career stages are welcomed.
