About the Event

The Administrative Data Research (ADR) initiative was created by UK governments to facilitate knowledge production and exchange between the public and higher education sectors. Approved researchers can access administrative datasets that are not publicly available and produce timely research on social problems affecting Scotland ADR Scotland bridges the gap between academia and government by giving researchers an avenue to influence policymakers. This workshop is second of four that introduces BSA ECF members to the ADR of each UK nation.

Ian Atherton, Senior Science Manager of DR UK will host an introductory seminar, joined by colleagues from ADR Scotland which will:

  • Give an overview of ADR Scotland.
  • Showcase their researcher’s current projects.
  • Discuss existing knowledge gaps that ADR affiliates want to fill.
  • Identify key stakeholders that ECF can contact.
  • Advise on upcoming ADR grant competitions.
