About the Event

Our Autumn session is a space to really grapple with conceptual tensions and complexities in the field. So, the theme for this seminar will be ‘Sociology of Emotions: Unpacking Concepts’. We’ve decided to repeat this theme because it generated such rich conversation in 2024 and 2025 and there is much to unpack!

Call for Papers

We invite submissions from anyone, regardless of discipline, who would like to present on a concept they have been generating/adapting/working with, fitting under the umbrella of Sociology of Emotions.

The format will be a 20-minute presentation followed by discussion. This will be an opportunity for our community to explore and deepen our thinking around concepts within the Sociology of Emotions. The presenter(s) will have the option of either facilitating or participating in the follow-up discussion.

Please send your abstracts (up to 250 words) to the organisers by Friday, 9 October 2026.
