About the Event
What is the place of labour in today’s global climate struggle? How are workers’ struggles and environmental justice intertwined? How is the struggle for climate justice also an anti-capitalist struggle? What can we do in our workplaces, communities, and social movements to build a more equal and just world? What do alternatives look like?
These are some of the questions Stefania Barca, author of Workers of the Earth (Pluto Press, 2024) and Lorenzo Feltrin, author of Workers and the World (Verso, 2026) will tackle in an online conversation on 12 November 2026.
Drawing on a range of perspectives such as ecofeminism, Italian workerist theory, and social reproduction theory, the speakers will reflect on the intersections of anti-capitalism and struggles for environmental and climate justice. The discussion will touch on contemporary issues like automation, industrial and meta-industrial workers, imperialism, and movement strategy.
