About the Event
The New Materialisms Study Group Annual Conference on 22 June at Goldsmiths University of London features guest keynote speaker Professor Tara Page.
Bringing together researchers, artists, educators, and practitioners from across disciplines, the conference will contemporary developments in new materialist thought, practice and research, with a full day of oral presentations covering a range of contemporary topics, including mental health, climate change and artificial intelligence, plus a short film and exhibition.
Professor Page’s keynote, titled Recognising unrecognised work: practice beyond outcome and evidence, will consider how practices gather and disperse across relations between bodies, materials, and time. The keynote examines how forms of work become visible, sustained, deferred or refused within institutional and more-than-human arrangements, challenging conventional understandings of outcome, evidence and completion.
Professor Tara Page is Professor of Pedagogy and Praxis at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her work moves across creative practice, pedagogy and organisational life, focusing on recognition, continuation and the limits of what can be embodied.
